Classic Creamy Hot Chocolate
Ingredients
- 1 tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1–2 tsp coconut sugar / brown sugar / maple syrup (to taste)
- Pinch of salt
- 2 tbsp hot water
- 1–2 tbsp chopped 70% dark chocolate (for extra flavour)
- 1 cup (240 ml) almond milk (or milk of choice)
- ¼ tsp vanilla extract
Method
Stovetop
- In a small saucepan, whisk together cocoa powder, sweetener, salt, and hot water until smooth.
- Place on medium heat and bring to a gentle simmer.
- Reduce heat to low, add milk slowly while whisking.
- Stir in vanilla and let simmer for 1–2 minutes.
- Pour into a mug and enjoy warm.
Microwave
- Add all ingredients to a microwave-safe mug.
- Heat for 60–90 seconds, stirring every 30 seconds.
- Froth if desired.

- Marshmallows
- Sprinkle of cinnamon
